REVOLUTIONARY “GREEN” CLOTHES DRYER TECHNOLOGY RECEIVES APPROVAL FROM UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES

New technology promises to reduce energy consumption up to 50 percent and

clothes drying time up to 41 percent

ORLANDO, FLA.; Jan 07, 2009 — Hydromatic Technologies Corporation (HTC) has received approval from Underwriters Laboratories (UL) on its revolutionary DryerMiser™ - a device that will allow clothes dryers to become energy-efficient and could be the first dryer to obtain the Energy Star designation.

First introduced at the 2008 International Builders’ Show® in Orlando last February, the DryerMiser™ is a new technology that can reduce the clothes dryer’s energy consumption up to 50 percent and cut drying time by up to 41 percent.

The DryerMiser™ is going to be a real difference-maker in the American household,” says Mike Brown, founder and President of HTC. “Consumers are demanding products that improve their quality of life and embody the green movement through lower energy costs, greater time-savings, and more safety.”

Following rigorous testing, UL, the trusted source across the globe for product safety, awarded the DryerMiser™ its UL Listing Mark, paving the way for HTC to begin mass production of the device.

Hydromatic plans to begin selling the DryerMiser™ in 2009 as an aftermarket kit that will replace the heating element in traditional clothes dryers. The device will be available through appliance service providers at an estimated retail price of $300 and discussions are underway with major appliance manufacturers to offer the DryerMiser™ as original equipment in new dryers.

Clothes dryers are not required to abide by energy standards, making them the second-most energy consuming appliance in the home. With the DryerMiser™, dryers will finally go “green,” and HTC will be poised to comply with energy standards for this high-consuming appliance two years ahead of the deadline set by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
